Hi there. I have seen that you can export grades into excel from a teacher/instructor account, but I would like to download the grades as a parent (from an observer or student account). Is there any way to do this?
@AspenDiercks At this time, there is no feature for exporting grades as a CSV as an observer or student. You can use the Print Grades button to save the grades as a pdf though. Would that work for you?
Thank you, but no - that would not work for my purpose. I want to be able to manipulate the points for each assignment.
Hello @AspenDiercks The student grades page in the course has a Print Grades feature but does not have an export grades capability. If I wanted to perform the calculations outside Canvas I would create an Excel spreadsheet with a column for each assignment group. I'd then calculate the grade for each assignment group and then tally that up using the weighted average for each group. An example is attached.
Perhaps this is useful. Best, Jeff
Thank you, but I am wanting to manipulate the scores for each assignment.
@AspenDiercks Can you further explain what you mean by "manipulate the scores"? If you took @Jeff_F's advice, you would have a document in which you could manipulate to your heart's content. If you are looking to manipulate the grades by uploading a changed CSV back to Canvas, that is not possible for a Student or Observer role.
